Industry Leading Software Engineer Steven Morris Joins ANT as Systems Architect

ANT plc (AIM: ANTP), the market leading provider of software and solutions for the IPTV, hybrid TV and consumer electronics industries, today announced that Steven Morris has joined the company in the role of systems architect.
Morris is an experienced developer in the areas of interactive digital television and digital video broadcasting (DVB). Formerly of Philips Electronics in Taiwan and the UK, he was one of key architects of the development of the DVB Multimedia Home Platform (MHP) standard and its predecessors, as well as related standards such as JavaTV and OpenCable Application Platform (OCAP).
 
Morris is a co-author of "Interactive TV Standards: A Guide to MHP, OCAP and JavaTV." The book provides digital TV application and middleware developers with a real–world guide to the new open standards for digital interactive TV. He is a holder of several patents in the areas of Web browsing, Internet content adaptation, memory management in low-memory environments and digital TV.

Most recently, Morris was a senior engineer at Taiwan's Arcadyan Technology, a leading supplier of wireless multimedia equipment and a joint venture between Philips Electronics and Accton Technology Corp. There his work focused on the areas of video and audio steaming over IP, UPnP, IPTV and content protection.
 
Prior to that, Morris held project management and research positions in Taiwan with Advanced Digital Broadcast Ltd. and Philips Research East Asia, and in the UK at Philips Research Laboratories, where he was a member of the team providing support for Philips' standardisation efforts in the area of interactive digital television.
 
Morris holds a 1st class BSc. (Hons.) in computation from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
