ANT Strengthens Leadership with Key Appointments of Hoskin as CTO and ARM VP MacKay as Non-executive Director

ANT Limited has announced a significant strengthening of its senior management team as part of the company's strategy to aggressively expand its Internet device software business. Dr Jonathan Hoskin, formerly of Insignia Solutions (Nasdaq:INSG), has been appointed as chief technology officer, and David MacKay, of ARM Holdings Plc (LSE:ARM); (Nasdaq:ARMHY), joins as a non-executive director.

With his extensive knowledge and experience of the industry, Dr Hoskin's principal role will be to lead development and deliver ANT's product road map. As a non-executive director, Mr MacKay joins the ANT board, bringing to bear his skills and experience in business and legal fields, coupled with his solid background in new technology.

Prior to joining ANT, Dr Hoskin was with Insignia Solutions, as CTO for three years and senior engineering manager for six years. In his position as CTO Hoskin led a team of over 40 software engineers and built Jeode, the company's flagship product, from scratch. His responsibilities encompassed all aspects of the development process, including specification, design, development, test and support. Dr Hoskin's career spans almost 16 years working with a number of organisations including Glossa, Hipersoft and Unisoft, where he held the roles of consultant, technical director and software engineer.

David MacKay will retain his current position as Executive VP and General counsel at ARM, joining the ANT board to advise on business development and growth issues. At ARM Mr MacKay has been instrumental in managing the company's growth from start-up to IPO and beyond, and he brings considerable experience to ANT in establishing and growing an international licensing business.

ANT's communication software is playing a major role in driving the growth of the Internet appliance market, with ANT's browser and email technology enabling Internet browsing and email communication from home entertainment, wireless and other non-PC devices such as digital set-top boxes, Internet television, mobile phones, PDAs and household appliances.

Dr Hoskin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Warwick, a Mathematical Tripos Part III distinction from Cambridge University and a doctorate in Mathematics from Oxford University. He represented Insignia on the Java Micro Edition Executive Committee (part of the new Java Community Process).

David MacKay has a Batchelor of Arts degree in Comparative American studies from the University of Warwick and qualified at the College of Law, Chancery Lane, London. He is currently a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales and a member of the International Bar Association.
