ANT (www.antplc.com), the provider of software and services for the delivery of digital TV, today announced the appointment of Jim Denenny as VP & General Manager, Americas. The appointment is a key part of ANT’s expansion from its European base to align itself geographically with customers in Asia and the US.

ANT’s move to strengthen its presence in the US will help support major customer accounts such as Cisco and Xerox. Denenny will be based in Atlanta and responsible for driving ANT’s operations in the US, including sales, marketing and customer relationship management.

Prior to joining ANT, Denenny spent two years as General Manager of RealNetworks Video Services Business Unit providing Application Service Providers (ASP) services which enable broadband and mobile carriers in the US to offer end-to-end video entertainment services to subscribers. Prior to this he spent almost a decade at Real in a variety of senior management positions including sales, marketing and engineering.

While Jim Denenny takes responsibility for ANT’s US activity, Sean Kim becomes ANT’s VP & General Manager for Asia and Russia Markets. Kim has been with ANT for over two years and is based in Seoul, Korea. He has a wealth of industry experience and has been heavily involved in the growth of ANT’s activity in this region in recent years.

“ANT has seen impressive growth over the last 12 months with royalty income from licensees particularly strong. The next six months will see the business develop its international presence aligning itself with OEM manufacturers and service providers in Asia and the US. The appointment of Jim Denenny reflects this international expansion,” said Richard Baker, Executive VP Sales and Marketing.

“ANT is at a threshold with an impressive set of licensees worldwide at a time when digital TV is set to go mainstream. It has an incredibly strong end-to-end software proposition for device manufacturers and operators. My role is to make ANT the software standard for Digital TV deployments in the US,” said Jim Denenny, VP & General Manager Americas, ANT.

Research by the Multimedia Research Group shows that IPTV subscription numbers alone are set to rise from 24.4 million in 2008 to 92.8 million in 2012.
