ANT Explores The Future of Entertainment with English & Pockett at Internal ITV Event

 
Branding & Software solutions providers demonstrate power of IPTV

ITV's Imagine unit is working with ANT and English & Pockett (E&P) on a one-off project for an internal ITV event called Future of Entertainment. ANT is a leading provider of software solutions and services enabling broadcasters, telco operators and cable and satellite companies to deliver compelling digital media content to consumers, and has looked at how television will evolve and the impact that IPTV will have on this.
 
ITV Imagine was set up in 2006 with the objective of bringing new and innovative ideas to ITV. The division’s remit includes looking at the development of content and programming, but also at the future of the medium of television itself. This includes revenue models, repurposing content for MP3 players and mobile phones, and of course, IPTV.
 
2007 Research from the Centre for Telecoms Research (CTR) revealed that the number of UK households watching TV delivered via an internet connection will rise from an estimated 80,000 in 2006 to around 1.5m by 2011. ANT and E&P will explore new advertising, sponsorship and branding strategies all facilitated by advances in IPTV.
 
ANT is working with brand experts E&P to develop a dynamic user interface for ITV Imagine that demonstrates advances that are possible using current IPTV systems. In addition to this, E&P are also demonstrating a futuristic approach featuring a personalised user experience that reaches far beyond anything available in today’s market.
